OUT ON THE TOWN / ARE YOU SAFE?

Everyone likes to go out for a night on the town once in awhile. Make sure your night does not end in tragedy. Take precautions.

  • Make sure someone knows where you have gone. Try to leave a schedule. If you change, plans tell someone. You're never too old to have someone care about you.

  • Tell someone what time you are planning to return. Call when you get in. Too much independence can get you killed.

  • Don't tell your plans to everybody. Be aware of who is around when you are talking about your schedule plans.

  • Park your car in a well-lit and well-populated area.

  • Know where you are going and how to get there. Don't take short cuts. Know the area.

  • Don't Go Alone! Go with a group and stay with that group. You can always get their phone number.

  • Always meet people you don't know in a public, crowded place. Stay there or take your own transportation to another well-known public place. Remember getting to know someone takes time. Don't spend it in a secluded place. It could be your last place.

  • Don't carry a lot of cash. Only use and carry one credit card.

  • Keep track of the cost charged to your credit card.

  • Know your limits. Don't drink to access.

  • Don't leave your drink unattended. It is very easy to put drugs into an unwatched drink.

  • Know the affects of drugs likes Rohypnol (Brand name for Flunitrazepan)

  • Don't Take Drugs!

  • Remain aware of your surroundings.

  • Don't go to a secluded place with someone you hardly know.

  • Don't drink from a stranger's glass.

  • Don't take a drink directly from a stranger. If someone offers you a drink make sure it comes from the bartender and that you watched him/her make it.

  • Be aware of the type of signals you send to others.

  • Treat a stranger as a stranger, not as a friend. ( Watch how you dance, move and where you put your hand or where he puts his hands. Remember that actions do speak louder than words.)

  • No Means No!

  • Make sure your car is in good repair.

At the end of the night, come home safe and in one piece.
